On Monday, August 28, 2006 Pastor and Lady MaLinda and the Lighthouse Family hosted its annual Back to School Rally for the community.
Pastor and First Lady Sapp have hosted this event for twelve years. Every year kids from K-12 race to Martin Luther King Park to receive:

-Back pack filled with school supplies
-Free hair cuts
-Live entertainment
-Food

This year the rain fell hard, yet it did not stop the festivities. The Lighthouse volunteers worked efficiently and quickly to move the rally at the church. Once in the house of Lighthouse, the praise began!

People packed the sanctuary and enjoyed and opening selection by the Lighthouse Full Life Center Church Mass Choir. Our very own Maddison Sapp (first daughter) sang from her heart, Mary/Mary: Heaven. The praising did not stop there; Youth in Motion danced to Ty Tribett’s, ‘I Want It All.” By this time everyone was on their feet as the kids ministered to us through dance. Other performers included:
-Michael Essex and Vision
-The Singletons
-Minister Jonathon Dunn and Faith Ministries

We love our Pastors for having the heart of giving back to the community. Because of their vision over 800 children were blessed and are ready to begin the school year prepared.

On August 27, 2006 over 1000 friends and family, and some neighbors enjoyed Lighthouse annual event!

The festivities began with our New Skool vs. Old Skool male and female basketball games. First Lady MaLinda Sapp serves as point guard on the female team. Wow, and can she dribble a ball. If the New Skool team mate thought it was a done deal to guard First Lady, that was quickly dispelled when Lady did a behind the back dribble right pass her! Go First Lady!

Oh and of course you can’t have a basketball game with out cheerleaders. That’s right, Our Twilights, (new skool) and our Chandeliers (old skool) cheerleads were roaring from the side lines cheering their teams on.

Brother Ronnie was a real trooper as he spent most of his time in the dunk tank.

Pastor always states we are a family church, and it’s such a blessing each year when the family gets together to fellowship.

Pastor Marvin is called to minister to a region. With God, his beautiful Wife, and the Lighthouse family, the vision given to Pastor Marvin will come to pass.
On Monday September 11, 2006 Lighthouse-Battlecreek doors open! The One Hour of Power was blessed with over 50 people. Pastor Marvin preached an incredible word, and one soul came to Christ!
Vision Tuesday is a strong component of Lighthouse. It’s a time the Lighthouse family meet with Pastor Marvin while and he shares the goals for the ministry for the next five years. Pastor understands it’s his role to paint the vision, present it to the people, and the sheep carry it out. (Scripture….can’t think of it right now…) Next vision Tuesday is September 26, 2006.
Congratulations to all!

Lighthouse has over 300 students who attend classes every Sunday and Tuesday. On Tuesday September 12, the Ministry of Education celebrated students who moved to the next “grade”
